The transition to a smart cement plant is often accompanied with data security concerns. The security of our customers’ data is our top priority – at the plant, during transmission to the cloud, and during further processing. To ensure the required level of data security, certified by the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) and Microsoft Azure and regulated by strict EU law.

The basic components of any digital solution for a cement plant are a definition of the variable to be recorded, installation of intelligent hardware (the thyssenkrupp edge technology) and the subsequent collection of data, as agreed on by our customer. The installation of the edge device (LAI) is the first step. The edge technology and its associated data platform are required to collect, store and interpret plant data.

Custom production plans

Intelligent production planning is more than an algorithm that delivers data-driven production plans. What we offer is a comprehensive production planning service that includes self-learning sales forecasting, a user-friendly planning environment, and support from cement process specialists with on-site experience.

A model of the existing cement plant with all individual constraints forms the basis of the intelligent production planning. The self-learning sales forecast is calculated using historical values or can be entered manually if desired. The software then uses a mathematical model to determine the optimum production plan for following days, taking into account energy costs, production and storage capacities as well as the determined sales forecast – enabling significant reduction of operating costs.
